Level I - Basic Training

Basic Training is provided in conjunction with job orientation and all general post assignments. It covers the rudimentary information neeed by all contract security officers to effectively perform general duties in a professional and informed mannger. AM-GARD's Basic Training program covers:

Patrol,Observation, and Patrol Methods

  • The purpose of protective patrolling
  • Protective patrol and observation techniques
  • Observation skills and proper reporting protocols

Response to Disturbance and Crime in Progress

  • Disorderly conduct and conditions under which it may occur
  • The correct physical approach to disorderly conduct
  • Various physical crimes in which the security officer may intervene
  • The correct physical approach to each identified crime
  • The element of surprise.
  • The security officer's role and responsibility for each defined event

Safety, Fire Prevention, Fire Response

  • General safety and fire prevention
  • Proper use of fire extinguishers
  • Various fire suppression systems and applications
